This 1840s home restoration project in Central North Carolina included reclaimed heart-of-pine flooring and countertops sourced and treated to match the original, rehabbed historic windows, three custom-built masonry chimneys connecting six restored Rumford fireplaces, tongue-and-groove ceilings, exposed brick and timber beams, and a solid surface kitchen backsplash. Smart appliances and mechanical systems, a tankless water heater, a whole-house generator, and baseboard HVAC returns provide modern comfort without distracting from the home’s historic character.
